We are seeking a skilled, attentive Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• with dedicated IV therapy training to join our clinical team.

Position Overview As an Infusion LPN , you will deliver delegated peripheral IV therapy, fluid rehydration, and pre-packaged/pre-measured intravenous medications (such as antibiotics) under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician. Your core focus is executing delegated plans of care, maintaining high safety standards, monitoring patient reactions, and providing compassionate care within the defined Illinois scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities Peripheral IV Access:

Initiate, maintain, and monitor short peripheral IV access sites and infusion pumps according to facility protocol and state guidelines.

Medication & Fluid Administration:

Administer continuous infusions of fluids and pre-measured/pre-packaged intermittent medications (e.g., IV piggyback antibiotics) through peripheral access.

Patient Monitoring:

Perform focused assessments, record vital signs, monitor site integrity, and promptly identify/report signs of adverse reactions or complications to the supervising RN or Physician.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation regarding peripheral IV placement, fluid/medication rates, site checks, and patient responses.

Patient Education & Support:

Educate patients and their families on peripheral IV site care, signs of infiltration, and post-treatment guidelines.

Clinic Operations:

Assist in maintaining sterile technique, maintaining stocked infusion bays, and verifying orders alongside the supervising clinical team. (

Note:

Per Illinois regulations, this role does not include IV push medications, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, or central line management.)

Qualifications & Skills Education:

Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Licensure:

Active, unencumbered Illinois Practical Nurse License (or active NLC compact state license with Illinois privileges).

IV Training & Certification:

Completion of a Board-recognized post-licensure 30-hour IV Therapy Course (or equivalent documented classroom and supervised clinical competency in peripheral IV lines).

Certifications:

Current BLS/CPR certification required.

Experience:

Minimum of [1-2] years of LPN clinical experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in peripheral venipuncture techniques and peripheral line maintenance.

Key Skills:

Strong clinical judgment and understanding of LPN scope boundaries. Excellent communication and patient care skills. Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).

Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:

$29.00
