Job Description

The Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing basic medical attention to patients and assessing their wellbeing. The LPN is responsible for daily managing and tracking of patient referrals to specialist. The LPN will obtain prior authorization for all procedural order and mediation by completing the authorization process for all insurance payers.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Ensure the maintenance of quality patient care. A. Patient data collection. B. Administer medications. C. Patient care issues. D. Patient education. E. Documentation in the patient record. F. Contacts patients with results of test. G. Refills medication when requested by patient and approved by provider. Including prior authorizations for medications. H. Send all necessary information needed to refer the patients to a specialist. I. Track all referrals sent to a specialist for the report of the visit. This also will include any lab/x-ray orders. J. Prior authorizations on any test required by the insurance companies. K. Assist as a MA when needed. L. Order all medication and medical supplies. M.
Oversee all medical assistants including:
a. making monthly schedule b. making sure documentation is complete in patients' charts c. in- services d. handling all issues with MA's Adhere to policy and procedure. A. Responsible for adherence to hospital policies and procedures B. Adhere to acceptable dress code C. Report all incidents and injuries E. Comply with attendance policy F. Report unsafe conditions H. Provide clean environment Maintain satisfactory communications. A. Promote satisfactory relationships B. Demonstrate professional manner Participate in professional development activities. A. Attend quarterly meeting B. Attend in-service programs C. Share knowledge with others Follows Hood Memorial Hospital's Compliance Program and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines. Is able to demonstrate competency in age specific criteria as applicable to job scope. Perform other duties as assigned.
