Lauve's Pediatric Day Health Care Licensed Practical Nurse Job Description Summary:
The LPN provides services in accordance with PDHC policies, prepares clinical and progress notes, assists the physician and/or RN in performing specialized procedures, prepares equipment and materials for treatments, observing aseptic technique as required, and assists the patient with daily care.
Job Relationships:
Supervised by the DON and RN. Supervise CNA's/orderlies.
Interrelationships:
Must work closely with supervisor and other staff members.
RN and CNA Patients/Parents Qualifications:
Each LPN employed by the facility shall have at least the following qualifications: Be currently licensed in the State of Louisiana without restrictions as a licensed practical nurse. Hold a current certification in CPR.
Have either:
One year experience in pediatrics as a LPN. Two years of documented prior pediatric experience working as a direct care worker caring for medically fragile children.
Responsibilities:
Administers direct patient services requiring specialized nursing skills. Effectively carries out physician's orders. Reports changes in patient's condition, signs, and symptoms to the RN Case Manager or the DON and the physician. Recognizes, observes, records, and reports significant changes in the patient's condition. Check vital signs and medication regimen on assigned patients. Assist with feeding, ambulation, and personal care of patients. Teaching patient/caregiver procedures under the direction of a RN. Is courteous and maintains good rapport with patients, families, and visitors. Makes notes as services are performed for the patient's daily records and turns in all notes at the end of the day. Responsible for following all policies and procedures for the PDHC.
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
