Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a dedicated student as a 1:1 school nurse near Cambridge, MA. This assignment involves providing essential care for an 18-year-old male student with complex medical needs who attends a specialized out-of-district program in Lexington. You'll play a vital role in his daily routine, including transportation support to and from school, and individualized nursing care throughout the school day. The commitment is anticipated to last for the remainder of the 25/26 school year, covering the summer session, with strong potential to extend into the 26/27 year. This full-time position averages around 40 hours per week, offering a reliable and rewarding schedule for those passionate about pediatric and school-based nursing.
Qualifications:
Active Massachusetts LPN or RN nursing certificate (required) Experience supporting pediatric or adolescent populations, ideally in school or community settings Compassionate, patient-centered approach with excellent communication skills Ability to provide clinical care for a student diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia, spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, cortical visual impairment, eosinophilic esophagitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease Comfortable providing 1:1 care, including assistance during transportation
Key Responsibilities:
Support the student throughout the school day and on van transportation to and from his home Assist with activities of daily living, medical care, and classroom participation Communicate effectively with educational and healthcare teams, as well as the student's family Monitor, document, and respond appropriately to the student's ongoing health needs
Schedule Details:
Summer session: July 6 - August 7, approximately 8:00am-2:30pm Regular year: Approximate full day 7:30am-3:20pm, coinciding with school start at 8:00am If you are an experienced Massachusetts school nurse who thrives in one-on-one settings and are eager to make a difference, please submit your MA nursing certificate and resume today.
