Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a contract school nurse supporting a male out-of-district student throughout their academic journey. This assignment offers a consistent 1:1 setting, starting immediately and anticipated to extend through the upcoming school years, including summer sessions. You'll play a pivotal role in providing medical and daily support, including safe transportation, for a student who relies on skilled nursing care to participate fully in their educational program.
Key qualifications:
Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license required Previous experience working with school-aged children or in pediatric nursing preferred Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers Strong reliability, compassion, and sense of advocacy for student well-being Ability and willingness to accompany and support student during daily transportation Primary responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 nursing care, following all medical protocols and monitoring student health needs throughout the school day, during class, and transport Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions as needed Maintain accurate, confidential health documentation and communication with parents and medical team Respond promptly to any medical emergencies, ensuring student safety at all times Support the student's inclusivity and participation in academic and extracurricular activities This contract position is approximately 40 hours per week, spanning the school year—including summer session—with the likelihood to continue into subsequent academic years.
