Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding role dedicated to student care and well-being as a classroom nurse supporting a bright and resilient student. This contract position, based near Salem, MA, offers the opportunity to provide one-on-one nursing assistance for a student with a tracheostomy (with nothing actively running) in a supportive school environment. The position is part-time mornings, with hours running Monday through Friday from 8am to 2pm until June 23. Following a short break, the schedule continues Monday through Thursday, 8am to 12:30pm, from July 6 to August 6. You'll be embedded in a collaborative classroom, working closely with educators and specialists to ensure optimal care and safety for the student.
Desired Qualifications:
Current, active LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or RN ASN license in Massachusetts Prior experience providing care for students with tracheostomies is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a dynamic school environment Strong organizational skills and a nurturing, compassionate demeanor
Responsibilities:
Monitor and attend to the health and well-being of the assigned student throughout the school day Implement and document student care plans and procedures relating to the tracheostomy Collaborate with classroom teachers and school personnel to support student learning and participation Respond promptly to health concerns or emergencies as needed Maintain accurate nursing notes and ensure compliance with district and state regulations Experience the fulfillment of making a true difference in a student's life.
