POSITION SUMMARY
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Then Friends House has the perfect opportunity for you as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). As an LPN, you will assist the Nursing Supervisor in providing resident care and managing the nursing unit. You may also act as the Charge Nurse of the unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a 1-year Licensed Practical Nurse course. Currently registered to practice nursing in Maryland. Previous experience with geriatric patients is desirable. Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred. Must have a reliable attendance record.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative:
Initiate Resident Assessment within 7 days of admission. Perform MMDS monthly on residents. Requisition supplies as needed and maintain equipment in good working order. Maintain unit records. Discharge and transfer patients.
Nursing:
Perform and/or supervise resident care according to outlined policies. Check residents' charts for specific treatment and medication orders. Assign duties to Geriatric Nursing Assistants and supervise Certified Medicine Aide.
Emergency Care:
Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs. Instruct patients in self-help and self-care. Schedule emergency or STAT lab tests for residents and assist technicians on rounds. Initiate, observe, and maintain isolation and universal precautions.
General:
Abide by the standards and practices as set forth in the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct. Adhere to HIPAA regulations. Attend professional meetings and workshops.
Pay Range:
$36 - $43 Weekdays and Every Other Weekend, 7am - 3pm Shift
