YR Job Description:
Prepares and assists patients for examinations: Coordinate with researchers and staff to schedule specialized procedures and diagnostic exams. Perform patient education as directed by researchers or medical staffs regarding procedures or protocols. Review patient history and validates medical information and consent forms for accuracy and completeness. Take patient vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc. and documenting on research or medical procedure forms manually or electronically. Notify researchers or medical staffs if there are problems or patient concerns that need to be addressed before proceeding with testing. Assists researchers or medical staff perform testing and exams and records basic physiological data: Administer prescribed medications orally or intravenously to patients as directed by researcher or medical staff. Monitor patient throughout procedure, noting significant changes in conditions and adverse reactions and notify researcher or medical staff. Collect, annotate, and log all samples and store in accordance with researcher or medical staff direction and operational guidelines. Prepare all equipment necessary and specialized operations to perform test or procedure. Log data, findings, notes, etc. as directed by researcher or medical staff during test or procedure. Maintains safe, orderly and clean clinical or treatment facility environment: Assist researchers and medical staff test equipment to ensure proper working order and coordinate maintenance as necessary. Clean and sterilize test rooms and facilities, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly prepared, stored and retrieved in accordance with guidelines. Assist researchers and medical staff sterilize themselves prior to performing test or procedure. Maintain accurate and complete records of operations and procedures and store in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP). Maintain safety equipment and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs in accordance with OSHA standards. Schedules and prepares patients for appointments: Participate in weekly conference sessions where participants' data are evaluated to determine participants' status. Participates in the development of diagnostic interviews with the principal investigator. Administers diagnostic interviews and prepares summaries in support of research protocols. Administers clinical interviews either in person or by telephone using clinician-developed research rating scales.
Required Skills:
Clean Equipment - Ad-Hoc. Work products and documents related to collecting and processing specimens; administer medications, perform venipuncture; obtain EKGs; perform IV insertion; check vital signs; conduct a variety of tests and procedures of a technical nature. Work products and documents related to receiving Nursing report; medication administration, obtain data and document pertinent patient information; assist with activities of daily living; transport - Ad-Hoc Work products and documents related to patients, specimens, equipment and supplies - Ad-Hoc. Work products and documents to communicating changes in patients' condition; report actual and potential problems; comply with quality assurance procedures and medical policies. Ad-Hoc.
