Job Description

General Summary of Duties:
To supervise and direct daily nursing activities and care as prescribe by the physician and in accordance with accepted standards of nurse practice and regulation. To promote a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse and in good standing with the State of MI 1 year on the job experience TB Skin test
CPR/FA/BLS
Negative Covid-19 test results Covid Vaccination preferred Must be able to read written direction, comprehend verbal instructions, and write at a level necessary to accomplish the job Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical Requirements:
Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits Fine hand coordination Frequent Standing Walking and transporting of residents Bending and kneeling Reaching Grasping Pushing and pulling wheelchairs and other equipment Lifting Residents (70-290 lbs) with assistance as indicated Move residents in bed (40 lbs), up in bed (601bs) Chair to standing (601bs) Moving residents in bed (40lbs), up in bed (60lbs) Chair standing (601bs) Ability to communicate with residents and personnel Read and writhe remain calm under stress
Essential Functions:
Supervise non professional staff in the daily delivery of resident care. Schedule job assignments and develop nursing unit priorities. Assist in obtaining substitutes for staff absences Monitor work assignment. Provide feedback, evaluate performance, and redirect as needed. Communicate policies, assist, and coach. Complete quality care audits, as needed. Ensure strict adherence to procedures regarding hazardous chemicals Ensure strict adherence to facility fire safety and infection control practices. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously. Respect dignity and confidentiality standards and promote residents rights. Prepare or assist with new admissions, transfer, and discharges. Provide or assist with new admissions, transfers, an discharges. Complete treatments and procedures, as ordered by the physician, and within scope of practice and related training. Observe resident condition. Report changes to physician and RCM Evaluate and record resident's need and response to PRN medications. Administer medications as ordered by the physician. Direct medication aide accordingly. Monitor resident skin condition. Report changes or new problems to physician and RCM Monitor residents on alert status.. Report changes to physician and RCM. notify RCM of any unusual occurrences.. Complete incident form and notify family and physician, as directed. Document all pertinent information on interdisciplinary notes 254 hour DNS report form Document medications administered, treatment Sign, date, and perform all charting and record keeping in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Duties:
Assist in the development and revision of preliminary and comprehensive care plans. Coordinate nursing care services with other departments or disciplines Order medications or equipment, as necessary, to carry out physician orders. Report all incidents and accidents. Assist others with lifting, as required. Attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings. Perform related duties as requested.
