Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful nursing role supporting students at a local middle school in the Hopkins, MN area. This part-time contract opportunity lets you make a difference one day a week, working from 7:45 am to 3:00 pm. Use your LPN/LVN expertise to help maintain a healthy, supportive environment for middle school students.
Desired Qualifications:
Active LPN/LVN license, with eligibility to practice in a school setting. Prior experience with general nursing duties, preferably in a school or adolescent environment. Competence in basic triage, first aid, medication administration, and managing minor illnesses or injuries. Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff. Ability to work independently while adhering to district protocols. Organized, compassionate, and approachable demeanor.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and first aid for students who visit the health office throughout the school day. Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate health records in accordance with school policy. Monitor student health concerns, identifying situations that require escalation or parent notification. Support the health education needs of students, offering guidance on hygiene, illness prevention, and wellness as needed. Communicate clearly and confidentially with staff and parents regarding student health matters. Help with routine screenings and follow-up assessments as directed by the school nurse coordinator.
