Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make an impact where it counts by supporting students with significant medical needs in a dynamic school setting near Blue Springs, MO. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled LPN/LVN professionals looking for meaningful work in a collaborative environment with another nurse on site. With a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students, you'll contribute your expertise directly in classrooms, providing essential care and ensuring every child's well-being.
Key Qualifications:
Current and valid LPN or LVN license Prior experience with pediatric populations or in a school-based setting preferred Proficient in specialized care procedures including g-tube feedings, seizure management, toileting assistance, lifting, and the use of wheelchairs Comfortable working with students who have complex medical needs and collaborating with fellow nursing staff Strong communication skills and a compassionate, supportive approach
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized nursing care and support for students within their classroom environments throughout the school day Monitor and address chronic medical needs such as feeding (including g-tubes) and toileting Provide seizure observation and intervention as required Assist with safe transfers and mobility for wheelchair-bound students Maintain accurate health records and communicate updates with families and education professionals Partner with another on-site nurse to ensure comprehensive coverage and safety
Working Hours:
