A Licensed Practical Nurse or Vocational Nurse provides basic medical care under the direction of registered nurses and other healthcare specialists. The tasks that they are permitted to perform vary by state, but usually include changing bandages, checking blood pressure, or helping feed patients. May work in hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare facilities.
Provide daily nursing support and assist students with self-care needs, including feeding, diapering, hygiene, and tooth brushing. Safely lift and move up to 50 lbs., including assisting students with repositioning. Maintain current nursing skills through required staff development and training. Travel as needed for student support, training, and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.
