Full Time The school nurse assists in providing the fullest educational opportunity for students by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the schools. Health and Education Services- Promote public health by serving as health consultant to students, parents, and staff:
- Promote student health by assisting teachers in teaching units of health instructions:
- Promote student health by interpreting the policies and procedures for emergency care of illness and injury; and providing such care as needed while students are under school jurisdiction:
- Promote pupil health by being observant of school environment:
- Maintain and improve student health by establishing screening procedures to help assess the total health status of all students Organization and Implementation of School Health Program
- Organize work and plan well in advance for scheduled activities:
- Make constructive suggestions in the development and revision of objectives, standards, policies and procedures for the health program:
- Develop and maintains records, reports and statistical information:
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with administration and other school personnel Relationships
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with educational staff
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with parents/patrons
- Promote and foster communication with physicians, dentists and community agencies Professional Responsibilities
