Job Description

This contract position supports students with complex medical needs in a specialized school setting near Independence, MO. Work collaboratively with another on-site nurse and make an impactful difference every day as you provide hands-on assistance in the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Valid LPN or LVN license in the state School nursing experience or willingness to learn in a school-based role Comfort with feeding, toileting, and managing daily needs for children with significant medical considerations Familiarity with g-tube care, wheelchair assistance, and seizure support Ability to safely perform lifting and transferring of students as needed Strong communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families Compassionate, flexible, and team-oriented with a focus on student well-being
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and provide nursing care to a caseload of approximately 50 students with varied healthcare needs Support feeding, toileting, g-tube care, and seizure management throughout the school day Work within classrooms to administer medication, provide treatment, and monitor students health status Collaborate closely with teaching staff, other healthcare professionals, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each students health plan Keep accurate documentation of care and communicate relevant updates to the necessary school personnel Uphold a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students This contract role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, providing stability and consistency in a close-knit educational community.
