Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a district float nurse supporting students in a dynamic, multi-school setting near Lees Summit, MO. Your expertise as an LPN/LVN will be highly valued as you provide essential care across several schools, delivering flexibility and compassionate support wherever needed most.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current, active LPN/LVN license for the state of Missouri is required Demonstrated proficiency in hands-on care, including management of vents, tracheostomies, and g-tubes Experience working with pediatric or school-aged patients is highly desirable Strong adaptability to move between campuses and address varying student health needs Effective communication skills with students, school staff, and families Ability to work independently while accepting new assignments daily
Role Responsibilities:
Serve as the district float nurse, offering skilled nursing support throughout multiple schools depending on daily needs Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students, including those needing specialized medical attention Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and provide emergency care as required Maintain accurate and timely health documentation and communication logs Collaborate with fellow nurses, school administration, and educators to support the overall well-being of the student population Educate students and staff on health protocols, disease prevention, and individual care plans Working as a district float nurse offers variety, professional growth, and the chance to positively impact students' health in a supportive educational environment.
