GED Medical-surgical LPN IV Certification Full Job Description Role:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing patient care under supervision, utilizing the nursing process to ensure quality care. The role involves coordinating patient care across departments, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, and floating between various hospital facilities and departments such as Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, and Medical-Surgical.
Responsibilities:
Delivering bedside nursing care, adapting to flexible shifts (day or night), and responding to short-notice scheduling. The position requires physical stamina to lift, stand, and perform duties involving reaching, bending, and walking. The LPN may work in diverse settings with varying patient needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, current LPN license, and recent bedside experience (minimum one year for Med Surg, two years for other specialties). Certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and IV certification. Epic experience is preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical knowledge, flexibility, physical endurance, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. The role emphasizes accountability, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills.
