Education and Formal Training :
High school graduate or equivalent required Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensureUnit Description:
7 South is a 25 Bed Neurosurgical/Orthopedic Unit consisting of adult and geriatric patients, working on a track schedule. Patient ratio 1:5. Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, a Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistant's, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians and Occupational and Speech Therapists. New Graduate Nurses are accepted and welcome!Work Experience:
1-2 years of related clinical experience preferred. Orthopedic/Neurosurgical General & Podiatry surgery Wound care Surgical Drains Trauma, Vascular, Cardio monitoring PCA Pump, and Telemetry required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :
Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills Verbal and written skills required Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of the patients typically servedPhysical Requirements :
Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs Visual acuity for observation of patients Long periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material #CFVH-2025
