In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive personalized, efficient, and safe nursing services. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders, including IV infusions and pain management protocols. Assist with medical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and specimen collection/processing. Manage patient documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for patients with complex conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or those requiring hospice or palliative care. Support emergency situations by managing airway, ventilator support, and acute pain management in collaboration with healthcare teams. Educate patients and their families on health coaching, medication administration, discharge planning, and post-acute care instructions. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal intensive care (NICU), or behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Skilled in performing IV insertion, phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to respond swiftly in urgent or emergency situations like Level I Trauma Center or ICU environments. Familiarity with infection control protocols and infectious disease care practices to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in settings such as assisted living or home & community care environments.
