Free meal per shift with a great menu and options to purchase other food items on campus, Employee Auction, Wellness Center access while you are on break or just before or after your shift What You'll Do As an LPN or RN, you will: Directs, instructs, teaches, coaches, corrects and disciplines as appropriate the RAs and Medical Unit Secretaries in order to develop an effective team and assure the quality of work performed. Verifies identity of residents receiving medications, mixes or assembles drugs, administers drugs to resident, observes ingestion and records n MAR. Documents effectiveness of PRN drug on MAR. Maintains up-to-date medical records of care given. Documents reasons for which prescribed drugs are not administered, i.e. resident away from building, etc. Assists with assessment of resident needs. Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers as necessary. Collects and communicates information on resident conditions. Assures accountability for controlled drugs. Reports supply needs to appropriate personnel. Reports pharmaceutical needs to appropriate personnel. Performs tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, the following: dresses wounds, gives enemas and douches applies hot and cold compresses as needed operates EKG, suctioning equipment and O2 equipment obtains specimens for laboratory performs venipuncture 12.Performs duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by the Director of Nursing or another authorized supervisor. What We're Looking For Successful candidates will: Enjoy working with people and building relationships with residents Be dependable and committed to excellent attendance Have strong customer service and communication skills Be comfortable working in an environment with high expectations and standards, requiring attention to detail Preferred Experience We welcome recent LPNs with an alignment to our values of dedication and care; our pay rate is dependent on past experience. To work in this role, an LPN or RN License is required in the state of NC. Bilingual is a plus, but not required (some of our residents may have a native language which brings them joy to speak with others.) Schedule Arbor Acres operates 365 days a year , and team members are expected to be dependable and committed year round. Physical Requirements This position will require passing an ergonomic assessment to ensure the ability to perform this role with or without accommodation. The position entails walking, squatting, reaching, helping residents into lifts, and pushing weight in a wheelchair/ medication cart. LPN/RN Typical Physical Demands Must be able to lift 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance. Must be able to push residents that weigh up to 200 lbs. in a wheelchair. Must be able to turn, bend, stoop and stretch in order to assist patients/residents. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. LPN/RN Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ability to understand, speak, read/write English and perform general math calculations (pill counts, etc.) Knowledge of duties within LPN scope of practice. Able to value other staff and residents to promote a healthy team environment. Bilingual is a plus, but not required. Minimum Education Graduation from a recognized LPN or RN course of study approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. License and/or Certification Required License to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Must have valid and active North Carolina Driver's license.
