We care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults through age 30 . This position offers more variety than a traditional medical-office LPN role, with opportunities to participate in asthma and chronic-care clinics, vaccination clinics, medical ear piercing, ear procedures, telehealth-supported visits, and clinical research activities. Responsibilities Room patients from infancy through young adulthood and obtain accurate vital signs Obtain height, weight, head circumference when appropriate, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and other clinical measurements Administer childhood, adolescent, and young-adult vaccines according to physician orders and established protocols Participate in seasonal flu vaccination clinics Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing, including: Rapid strep Influenza testing Urinalysis Hemoglobin Pregnancy testing Other in-office testing as trained Collect and prepare laboratory specimens Perform hearing and vision screening Complete and document age-appropriate developmental, behavioral, mental-health, and other screening tools Perform cerumen irrigation following physician evaluation and office protocol Assist with asthma clinics, including: ACT and other standardized asthma assessments Respiratory rate and pulse oximetry Auscultation and documentation of breath sounds Inhaler and spacer technique review Reinforcement of physician-directed asthma education and action plans Support chronic-care visits by gathering relevant clinical information, reviewing adherence to established care plans, obtaining required measurements, and identifying concerns for physician review Assist physicians during in-office and telehealth visits by obtaining and reporting relevant clinical findings Perform medical ear piercing after completion of our training and competency program Participate in focused vaccine, asthma, chronic-care, and other specialty clinics Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record Maintain examination rooms, clinical supplies, vaccine supplies, and equipment Follow infection-control, vaccine-storage, CLIA-waived testing, and patient-safety protocols Recognize abnormal findings and promptly communicate concerns to the physician Provide age-appropriate patient and family education within LPN scope and established physician care plans What This Position Does NOT Involve No nursing-home or long-term-care work No routine medication-pass responsibilities No telephone triage program No wound-care caseload No overnight shifts Qualifications Current, unrestricted New Jersey LPN license Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program Current BLS/CPR certification Comfortable administering vaccines and injections Strong clinical and documentation skills Comfortable caring for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults Reliable, organized, efficient, and able to work in a busy outpatient environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable learning new clinical protocols and participating in research activities Preferred, But Not Required Pediatric, adolescent, family-practice, or primary-care experience Outpatient/ambulatory-care experience Experience administering childhood vaccines Experience with NJ VFC vaccines or vaccine inventory Experience with CLIA-waived point-of-care testing Experience with asthma education or chronic-care management Clinical research or clinical-trial experience Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
