This rewarding opportunity offers the chance to provide individualized care and support for a medically complex student throughout the school day and during transportation services. The selected nurse will work directly with one student, ensuring their medical needs are safely managed while helping them access their educational environment.
Contract Details Pay:
$31 - $34 per hour 36-week school-based contract: September 2026 through June 2027 37.5 hours per week | 7.5 hours per day Full school-year assignment Job Responsibilities Provide 1:1 nursing support for a medically complex student during school hours and bus transportation Administer and monitor care in accordance with physician orders and individualized healthcare plans Perform and monitor G-tube bolus feedings Monitor and support a student with hyperinsulinism and a history of seizures Document care provided and communicate appropriately with school staff and caregivers Respond to health-related needs and emergencies as required When the student is absent, provide nursing support within the district health clinic as assigned Qualifications Active New York Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required Experience with G-tube feeding and medication administration preferred Experience supporting students with seizure disorders preferred Diabetic care experience strongly preferred Pediatric or school-based nursing experience preferred Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with school personnel and families Why SHC Education?
