Pay Rate:
$22 to 24 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team within a correctional facility. The LPN will provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals, administer medications, monitor patient health conditions, and collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care and compliance with facility policies. Key Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols. Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions. Assist with intake screenings, health evaluations, and chronic care management. Provide wound care, medication administration, injections, and other nursing procedures within scope of practice. Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to the supervising RN or physician. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans. Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and wellness practices. Ensure compliance with correctional healthcare policies, infection control standards, and patient confidentiality requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes. Qualifications Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of [State]. Current CPR/BLS certification. Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred; correctional, psychiatric, emergency, or long-term care experience is a plus. Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Experience Correctional healthcare experience. Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience. Experience with medication administration, wound care, and chronic disease management. Familiarity with EMR systems.
