South Pointe Hospital's 6 Medical Unit is a fast-paced unit that cares for patients with a variety of medical conditions and diseases, such pneumonia, congestive heart failure, infectious disease, asthma, and COPD exacerbation, and is very experienced in ventilator management for chronic ventilator patients. As an LPN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system.

  • A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
  • A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Collect, document and report patient data and observations to the RN or authorized directing health care provider.

+ Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

+ Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

+ Perform routine laboratory tests.

+ Educate patients and family members.

+ Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees in a positive manner, share knowledge, experiences, and provide guidance when assigned. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program

+ Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Or the American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ One year of patient care experience

  • Physical Requirements:
  • + Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.

+ Involves extensive standing and walking.

+ Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

  • Personal Protective Equipment:
  • + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Pay Range
  • Minimum hourly: $23.

25 Maximum hourly: $33.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
