The purpose of this job is to provide nursing services to students/clients. In this position, the incumbent will use medical/clinical skills to assist with removing medically-related barriers to academic and behavioral progress of the students/clients. This position follows an academic school year calendar (10 months with summers off however paid throughout the summer); Optional Extended School Year program in July; Monday-Friday schedule; Weekends and Holidays Off Responsibilities and Duties (full description available at https://wfspa.org )
  • Conducts mental health/nursing assessments as required by regulation and according to nursing best practice
  • Provides nursing care and treatment to clients/students including: physical and behavioral health evaluations, mental status examinations, medication management, consultation to staff and families, physical examinations, ordering diagnostic testing, developing treatment plan and supporting doctors in prescribing medications or other therapies
  • Work with interdisciplinary team, integrating behavioral and physical health elements into the treatment approach
  • Act in compliance with nursing licensure regulations and best practices, including maintenance of complete, accurate and timely medical record keeping
  • Administers medications using nursing standards of practice and following program level procedures and ensures that medications are stored in accordance with agency policy
  • Monitors lab results.
Inform prescriber of any abnormal lab results or health related issues
Qualifications Education:
LPN Experience Psychiatric nursing or school nursing experience preferred Licenses, Certifications & Clearances Act 33/34 (PA State Criminal and Child Abuse) Clearances Valid PA LPN license Valid PA Driver's License Wesley Family Services offers the following benefits:
