Purpose:

Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Responsibilities:

Draw blood. Administer medications, including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drip therapies. Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Assess patients' general condition, including vital signs and weight. Promote wellness through patient education and by communicating physician instructions and recommendations. Document patient care activities, interventions, patient and family responses, and medications in the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and patient information. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including those established by OSHA, CLIA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
