Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Responsibilities but not limited to: Supports and promotes the nursing department functions on the unit by following established policies and procedures Is knowledgeable and responds to nursing and building emergencies according to established policy and procedure. Assigns duties and responsibilities to unit staff members in a manner that facilities optimum delivery of care to residents Conducts regular rounds on the unit and notifies appropriate personnel of findings Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care Obtain report from nurse being relieved and record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care and life-saving measures in the absence of a physician Participate in facility education and in-service programs Provide supervision to Nursing Assistant providing direct resident care. Provide resident care as necessary Perform comprehensive assessment of residents as assigned Promptly report changes in resident conditions to RN Supervisor, Physician, Director of Nursing and responsible party. Take follow-up action as necessary

Qualifications:

Active LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania Ability to multi-task Strong patient assessment skills Ability to communicate effectively Demonstrate clinical competency All candidates must pass pre-employment screening and PA Criminal Background in accordance with the PA Older Adult Protection Act.
