Job Description
PRN Clinical Support Nurse (CMA, LPN, or RN) Position Overview Magnolia Connection is seeking a dependable and compassionate PRN Clinical Support team member to assist with outpatient psychiatric care and clinic operations. We welcome applicants who are a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) . This position provides clinical and administrative support to our psychiatric providers during periods of increased caseload and when our regular clinical staff are unavailable due to planned PTO, illness, or other absences. This is an occasional, as-needed position rather than a regularly scheduled part-time role . We anticipate needing coverage approximately once every one to two months , although the frequency and number of hours will vary based on clinic needs. Some coverage needs will be scheduled in advance, while others may arise on shorter notice. Regular or guaranteed hours are not available. This opportunity may be a good fit for someone seeking occasional supplemental work and the flexibility to accept shifts based on their availability. Key Responsibilities Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs and clinical information. Prepare patients for appointments and assist providers during clinic visits as needed. Assist with medical record maintenance and clinical documentation. Complete and manage medication prior authorization requests. Training will be provided. Support medication administration and other clinical tasks within the scope of your licensure or certification. Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative team members to support efficient clinic operations. Maintain professionalism, patient confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies. Assist with additional clinical and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Iowa certification or licensure as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) , or eligibility for Iowa certification or licensure. Previous clinical experience preferred. Experience with medication prior authorizations is helpful but not required. Behavioral health or psychiatric experience is preferred but not required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, ethical, and able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Comfortable adapting to changing clinic needs and priorities. Able to consider both advance coverage requests and occasional short-notice needs, depending on personal availability. Schedule and Availability PRN / As needed Coverage anticipated approximately once every one to two months, with frequency varying according to clinic needs. Monday through Friday, based on clinic needs and provider schedules. Shifts may include planned coverage for PTO or increased caseload as well as occasional short-notice coverage for unexpected absences. No minimum or guaranteed number of hours. Team members may accept available shifts based on their availability.
