Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Reports to: Director of Nursing /
Program Director Location:
Ocean Tides - Narragansett, RI Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Ocean Tides is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for the health, safety, and medical advocacy of the youth in our charge. Beyond standard clinical duties, our LPNs provide compassionate care within a secure residential setting, ensuring that medical wellness serves as the foundation for the successful rehabilitation and growth of every young person.
Hours:
We are looking for Med administration onsite Saturday AM, Saturday PM, Sunday AM, and Sunday PM, as well as MWF PM. We are looking for one person to cover all four split shifts, rotating every other weekend.
Primary Responsibilities Clinical Oversight:
Administer medications, perform physical assessments, and manage daily sick call for residents with precision and care.
Emergency Response:
Provide immediate first aid and crisis medical intervention as needed, maintaining a calm and decisive presence.
Care Coordination:
Collaborate with the Department (RIDCYF), outside specialists, and staff to manage chronic conditions, dental needs, and mental health referrals.
Documentation:
Maintain meticulous medical records, ensuring 100% compliance with state regulations and program monitoring standards.
Health Education:
Empower youth by providing guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and wellness to support their long-term success.
Key Qualifications Licensure:
Active LPN license in the State of Rhode Island.
Expertise:
Previous experience in adolescent health, behavioral health, or correctional nursing is highly preferred.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication and the ability to build professional, therapeutic rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
Integrity:
A firm commitment to maintaining safety, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in a residential environment.
Pay:
$31.41 - $37.83 per hour
