Full Job Description Job Summary:
Responsible for providing nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse and in accordance with the hospital's philosophy of patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the RN in the observation, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Provide nursing care to an assigned group of patients using proper techniques, procedures and safety precautions to meet individual patient needs. Administer oral, IV intramuscular, subcutaneous and related medications according to established policies and procedures. Monitors IV infusions and blood transfusions on assigned patients including observing and regulating the flow rate and observing insertion site. Assist physicians and patients during examinations, procedures and/or diagnostic tests as required. Observe assigned patients and report any patient care problem, change in patient condition or unexpected occurrences to RN. Provide patient/family teaching and evaluate patient's understanding. Assist with patient discharge or transport planning. Maintain patient's medical records in an orderly manner and document all care provided and significant information, legibly, accurately and completely. Maintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients in accordance with hospital standards. Assume responsibility for own professional development, setting goals and striving to achieve them through available resources, such as attending seminars, in-services and/or reading journals. Requirements:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Training and Experience:
Minimum six months job-related experience or equivalent is required. Experience in Psych or Substance Abuse preferred Excellent written and oral communication skills
Schedule:
20/40 Part Time Split (11a-7:30p) / Every Other Weekend Delmonico 3C Unit info: This unit will focus on providing specialized treatment for our patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled
Pay Range:
USD $27.00 - USD $31.47 /
