Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist physicians and staff by performing clinical duties/functions of staging of patient in preparations for physician visit and completing patient assessment. Update all medications, allergies, family history, and other required information at each visit. Perform and document all office procedures (EKC, eye exam, blood collection, immunizations, injections, diagnostic test, wound care, treatments, etc.) Triage calls in a timely manner to determine urgency of patient's symptoms and course of action for when they should be seen by provider. Provide patient instructions and education. E-prescribes according to practice standing order or at the discretion of the physician and complete tasks in EMR. Perform venipuncture and process laboratory specimens according to standard laboratory procedures. Perform laboratory analysis with accuracy and speed using multiple methodologies and techniques both automated and manual according to department procedures and protocols. Maintain technical knowledge in all areas of the laboratory including pre-analytic, analytic, and post analytic phases. Demonstrate this expertise is maintained via performance technique, troubleshooting skills, specimen handling, test results review/verification, and the need for intervention when appropriate. Maintain an operational knowledge of all necessary equipment. Calibrate, perform quality control, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment following manufacturers guidelines, lab protocol, and PM schedules. Collaborate with other staff members to provide proper patient care. Work toward the goal of upholding our mission, vision, and values.
Job Qualifications:
High school education required. Post high school/medical studies with certifications as Medical Assistant (AAMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMMA) required.
