Provides quality nursing services to meet the needs of each resident.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties as assigned.Resident Care and Assessment:
Conduct daily rounds on the assigned unit at the beginning and end of each shift to observe, examine, and interview residents. Verify information from the off-going shift, monitor regulatory compliance, and determine staff assignments. Physically assess new admissions and residents for changes in condition or as required.Care Delivery:
Ensure the provision of resident care, including developing care assignments and monitoring task completion. Take and record vital signs, track food intake and output, administer medications, and use medical equipment as needed.Care Planning:
Assist with care plans to promote the highest level of resident physical, social, and mental well-being. Communicate care plan details and goals, consult with the interdisciplinary team, and gather input from residents and families.Communication:
Immediately inform residents, physicians, families, and other proper persons about incidents, injuries, changes in condition, room assignments, or transfers.Staff Training and Development:
Assist with the orientation of new staff or temporary employees. Observe nursing personnel, identify learning needs, and maximize teaching opportunities.Documentation:
Complete required documentation of care, services delivered, assessments, and incident reports.Reporting and Compliance:
Report relevant information to the Director of Nursing, including interdisciplinary team functioning, regulatory compliance, resident risk factors, and any changes in behavior or treatment.Survey Process Participation:
Assist with survey readiness, staff conduct, responses to requests, and corrective action plans.Safety and Emergency Response:
Ensure employee and resident safety by monitoring compliance with OSHA, hazard communication, and bloodborne pathogen protocols. Provide first aid and refer employees for post-exposure follow-up, participate in fire and disaster drills, and report incidents promptly.Quality Assurance and Policies:
Perform quality assessments and ensure compliance with quality standards. Assist with the development and update of policies and procedures in line with facility philosophy, professional standards, and legal requirements.Ongoing Education:
Maintain current knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to stand, sit, stoop, push, pull, lift up to 75 pounds, bend, climb, twist, walk, run, carry, listen, talk, and use medical equipment.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises nursing personnel, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. May address complaints, resolve problems, and take disciplinary action when needed. Indirect supervision of other staff involved in resident care.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduate of a nursing program. At least one year of related experience preferred. Meets state and federal requirements.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
