What we want The Licensed Vocational Nurse II provides an advanced level of paraprofessional nursing care and treatment to the patients involved with the TRISH research study. You may upload these documents on the application under CV/Resume. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of vocational nurse program. Two years of related experience in patient care. Required Licenses and Certifications Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and processes. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Responsibilities Research Participant Care Provides patient care activities to research subjects including measuring vital signs, assessing patient conditions, dispensing medications as needed, obtaining and transferring laboratory specimen, documenting testing and results in medical records, and documenting nursing activities in electronic medical records Acts as the liaison between medical providers and patients Communicates with patients to assess needs and changes Assists Physicians in maintaining electronic medical records and updates as needed Assists in follow up of patient care, communicates with patients, and documents medical records of these activities. Assures cleanliness and prevention of spread of infection in patient care areas, clean exam and treatment rooms, exam table, countertops, and doorknobs Assists with inventory, office equipment, and maintenance as needed Assists in the organization and upkeep of central nurse stations Files lab requests and results and distributes lab results to Physicians as needed Obtains clinical reports from affiliated organizations as needed Why Texas A&M University?
