Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Administer medications, change wound dressings, and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. LVNs also provide personal care assistance, including bathing and grooming.Health Monitoring:
Regularly assess and document the patient's health status, including any changes in condition, and communicate these to the healthcare team.Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about health management, medication administration, and home care procedures to promote independence and recovery.Collaboration:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including registered nurses, physicians, and therapists, to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan tailored to the patient's needs.Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of patient care, including observations, interventions, and progress notes, in compliance with agency policies.Minimum Education and Requirements:
Active License to practiceEducation:
Completion of an accredited LVN program and passing theNCLEX-PN
exam to obtain licensure.
