Job Description

Our AAAHC-accredited outpatient GI center is seeking a GI Technician / Medical Assistant to support colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures in a high-quality, patient-centered environment. We participate in GIQuIC and maintain a smooth, efficient clinical workflow. Bachelor's degree with interest in being a facilitator of success in patient and community GI care. We promote a culture of learning and growth in a dynamic, respectful and collaborative outpatient organic GI setting of excellence. Great opportunity for those qualified looking for a dynamic role and interested in serving the community. In the past it has served well, but not exclusively, pre-health, pre-PA, pre-NP, pre-med students taking 1-2 gap years. You'll work directly with a gastroenterologist and interact with other health care staff and learn invaluable skills.

ROLE Administrative tasks Review referrals, screen for comorbidities or past medical history that might require a hospital setting Schedule pts according to our protocols CLINIC Assist physician on clinic days by: Rooming pts, getting their vitals and documenting it in the EMR Make sure patients intake is complete Ask all pertinent and relevant information to start the assessment Collect ER visit, cardiology records,... Document it in the EMR and summarize it for the physician in a clear manner before he sees the pt Keeping an efficient flow
PROCEDURE
Assist physician on procedure days by: Reassures patient prior to procedure, walk them through the process Communicate clearly with patient and provider Thrive in a fast paced environment. Able to transition quickly Assists physicians with GI procedures (endoscopy, colonoscopy, banding) and manage specimen retrieval Job requires standing for prolonged periods and being active Ensure optimal workplace efficiency and safety in a dynamic setting.
Requirements :
Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support Certifications is preferred but can be offered to you as well . Experience in GI, ENT, ER, PACU, ICU, clinical setting not required, but helpful. Must have good work ethics, care for the community and patients. Know or be able or willing to learn everything related to procedures.
