Licesned Practical Nurse•Pediatric McLean, VA pay rate from : $30 per hour
MUST:
1+ years experience as a Licesned Practical Nurse•Pediatric Must have a Virginia Licesned Practical Nurse licesne Must have strong injection experience Must have experience taking vitals Must be comfortable treating children of all ages Background in Pediatric is highly preferred Vaccinations experience highly preferred Experience reviewing lab orders Certified or Registered is highly preferred Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred
DUTIES:
The Licensed Practical Nurse•Pediatric will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Ensure rooms and instruments are clean for patient use Perform vital signs on patient Ensure that patient history is complete i.e.(immunization records, allergy to medications, birth weight etc...) Obtain a brief summary of patient complaints Document any immunizations needed Read previous visits to obtain follow-up plan as needed Assist doctors in any necessary procedures Make patient and prescription calls as needed Perform sensory screening as needed Fill out any necessary paper work for patient i.e. (school forms, medication forms) Call hospitals to obtain any necessary results i.e. (lab and x-ray results) Contact insurance companies to obtain necessary authorization for certain procedures Complete any necessary referrals and referral cover sheets for doctor approval Set up any home therapies for patient use Teach patients when necessary i.e. (breathing treatments, newborn care, etc.) Keep a clean, safe and organized work environment for patients and staff Attend any necessary meetings to become up to date on changes in protocol and procedures Work as a team with nursing and front office staff for optimal patient care Assist the doctor in emergency situations Keep expiration dates current on all sample medications and formulas Keep medications and supplies on the crash cart current Administer immunizations and medicine injections Follow any OSHA and Safety requirements for rooms and documentation Other various duties as assigned, including cross training in other functional areas •Quadrant, Inc. is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
