PM Rate:
Travel $1,860/40 hrs; Local $1,556/40 hrs Required qualifications Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license BLS certification Core responsibilities Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician oversight: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, ADL assistance. Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans. Administer and monitor medications and treatments per orders and policies; ensure accurate dosing and documentation.
Manage wounds/incisions:
evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications. Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records and medication logs. Initiate and manage IV therapy as authorized: insertion, maintenance, infusion monitoring.
Care for urinary catheters:
insertion (as authorized), maintenance, and complication monitoring. Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing. Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure coordinated care. Address patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management. Respond to emergencies according to protocol and provide basic life support as needed. Follow infection control protocols and proper use of PPE. Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations. Advocate for patient rights and needs. Supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned. Maintain current knowledge through ongoing education and training. Other duties as assigned by management.
