Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Licensed Practical Nurse supporting a student-centered environment near Renton, WA! This position offers a unique blend of summer and school-year responsibilities, making a meaningful impact on a child's educational journey. Your primary focus will be a vibrant, mobile 5-year-old female student with a tracheostomy and ventilator. She navigates her day with energy and enthusiasm, benefiting greatly from skilled, compassionate LPN care. Summer sessions run at a preschool, followed by a transition to kindergarten for the new school year.
Key Qualifications:
Active LPN/LVN license in Washington State Experience with pediatric trach and vent care Comfortable providing one-on-one nursing support in school settings Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff Previous school nursing or similar pediatric experience strongly preferred
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized nursing care, including trach and ventilator support Monitor and respond to the student's health needs throughout the school day Collaborate with educators and support staff for comprehensive student care Maintain accurate health records and communication logs Support safe transitions during arrival, dismissal, and transportation Provide health education and training as appropriate to staff and families This position features part-time summer hours (Tuesday-Thursday, 7:30am-12:30pm including transportation) from July 7-30, then transitions to a full-time schedule during the school year (September 8-June 21).
