Join a local school program where you'll help students safely manage their healthcare needs while participating in the school day. We're hiring a school-based Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing support to K-12 students. You'll work under the supervision of the district's clinical team and collaborate with school staff, families, and other healthcare professionals. What You'll Do Provide routine and emergency nursing care to students Administer medications and treatments according to medical orders Monitor students with chronic conditions, acute needs, or other health concerns Support students with Individualized Healthcare Plans and Individualized Education Programs Maintain accurate health records, treatment documentation, and medication logs Review student immunization and health records for compliance with district and state requirements Communicate with parents, teachers, administrators, and clinical staff regarding student health needs Assist with health screenings and other school health programs Recognize changes in a student's condition and respond according to established protocols Help maintain an organized and well-supplied school health office What We're Looking For Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse license Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association Ability to complete required school and district clearances Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately when a student needs immediate care At least one year of LPN experience is preferred Previous pediatric or school-based nursing experience is helpful but not required Apply Today If you're an LPN looking for a school-based position in Tacoma, apply today to learn more about the schedule, student needs, and school assignment.
