$40/Hour Job Summary The Substitute Registered Nurse (RN) provides temporary nursing services in the absence of the school nurse. The Substitute RN promotes and protects the health and well-being of students and staff by providing nursing care, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical emergencies, maintaining health records, and ensuring compliance with district policies and applicable state and federal laws. Qualifications/Requirements Current, valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current CPR/AED certification (preferred or required by district). Experience in pediatric, community, public health, or school nursing preferred. Knowledge of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) school health requirements. Knowledge of communicable disease prevention and infection control. Ability to assess health conditions and respond appropriately to emergencies. Ability to maintain confidential student health information in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and district policies. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment. Duties/Responsibilities Provide nursing care to students and staff. Assess student illnesses and injuries and determine appropriate interventions. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, district policy, and state regulations. Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and emergency care. Develop and implement nursing interventions within the scope of practice. Maintain accurate and confidential student health records. Monitor students with chronic health conditions and individualized healthcare plans. Communicate with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, and school staff regarding student health concerns. Monitor communicable diseases and implement infection prevention procedures. Ensure compliance with state immunization requirements and health regulations as assigned. Maintain health office supplies and equipment. Promote student health, safety, and wellness. •Job Summary The Substitute Health Assistant (Certified Medical Assistant) provides temporary support to the school health office in the absence of regular health staff. Under the direction of the school nurse or designated administrator, the Substitute Health Assistant assists with student health services, provides basic first aid, administers medications as authorized, maintains health records, and supports a safe and healthy school environment. Qualifications/Requirements Current, valid Wisconsin Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or certification recognized by the State of Wisconsin, as required by the employing district. Current CPR/AED certification preferred. Experience in a medical office, clinic, hospital, or school health setting preferred. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and infection control procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student health information. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff. Ability to perform duties under the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse or administrator. Duties/Responsibilities Provide basic first aid to students and staff. Assist with student health assessments within the scope of practice. Administer medications as delegated and authorized by district policy and applicable law. Document student visits, medications, and treatments accurately. Maintain confidential health records. Monitor students who become ill or injured during the school day. Notify parents/guardians when students require dismissal or additional medical care. Assist with health screenings and other school health activities as assigned. Maintain inventory of health office supplies. Follow infection prevention and universal precaution procedures. Support the school nurse with daily health office operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Substitute Health Assistant (LPN): Health Aide - Substitute Health Assistant (Licensed Practical Nurse)

•Job Summary The Substitute Health Assistant (Licensed Practical Nurse) provides temporary nursing support in the school health office under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or designated administrator. The Substitute LPN assists in delivering student health services, administers medications and treatments within the scope of practice, responds to student health needs, and supports a safe and healthy learning environment. Qualifications/Requirements Current, valid Wisconsin Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Current CPR/AED certification preferred. Previous nursing experience in pediatrics, schools, clinics, or healthcare settings preferred. Knowledge of school health practices and infection prevention. Ability to maintain confidential student health information. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently within the LPN scope of practice and under RN supervision as required. Ability to respond appropriately to student medical needs and emergencies. Duties/Responsibilities Provide nursing care within the Wisconsin LPN scope of practice. Assess and respond to routine student health concerns. Administer medications and treatments as authorized by physician orders and district policy. Provide first aid and assist during medical emergencies. Document student health visits, medications, and treatments accurately. Maintain confidential health records. Monitor students with chronic health conditions and report concerns to the supervising RN. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health needs as directed. Assist with health screenings and other health office functions. Maintain health office supplies and equipment. Follow district policies, state regulations, and infection control procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay:

$16.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 40.0 per week
