Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Neurosurgery team!

•Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus

•Position Summary The LPN, CMA, or MA, under the general supervision of an RN and/or the direction of a physician, provides patient care and clinical support services appropriate to their scope of practice. Responsibilities include collecting and documenting patient information, assisting with examinations and procedures, recording care provided, and reporting changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate provider. The LPN, CMA, or MA accepts only assignments and duties for which they are trained and competent. These roles assist with care planning, patient education, coordination of services, and reinforcement of instructions provided by the RN or physician. In complex patient situations, the LPN may perform delegated nursing or medical acts beyond basic nursing care under the direct supervision of an RN, physician, or podiatrist, while the CMA/MA performs delegated clinical duties consistent with certification, training, organizational policy, and applicable state regulations.

HOURS:

Full Time, 0.8 FTE, 64 hours biweekly Experience/Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of patient care standards, clinical practices, and safety protocols Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience preferred Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire; preferred but not required Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED Sterile dressing changes including wound simple packing, i.e., no packing to tunneled wounds. Insert, maintain, and discontinue Foley catheters. Convert to leg bags. Nasopharyngeal swabs. Under the supervision of a RN, monitors IV flow and administration of IV medications including antibiotics. Employee Benefits Full benefits packages available for part- and full-time status.
