1 Description American Traveler is seeking an LPN with behavioral health experience for a 13-week travel contract in West Virginia, with night shifts and first-time travelers welcome. Details Inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric unit setting Adult patient population Patient ratio of 1:20 Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00), with every other weekend required Uses Avatar EMR; charting system experience required Behavioral health cases include anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use, suicidal behavior, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and congenital/developmental disorders Requirements Current WV or compact LPN/LVN license required; pending license acceptable Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required BLS (AHA) certification required CPI and First Aid certifications required (can be obtained during orientation) Experience with behavioral health skills including physical hold protocols, seclusion protocols, psychoeducation, and medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, subcutaneous) SSN, DOB, and Driver's License required for consideration Minimum 3 manager or charge nurse references within the past 2 years required for consideration West Virginia state fingerprinting must be completed in-state at least 7-10 business days prior to start License required if applicable Additional Information First-time travelers are accepted for this position Local candidates are accepted Travel experience is not required Navy or royal blue scrubs are provided by the facility Orientation is held on Mondays from 8:30am-4:30pm; modules (~8 hours) must be completed prior to arriving to orientation or the candidate will be turned away — no exceptions A DHHR Authorization and Release Form must be printed, hand-signed in blue ink, and returned within 48 hours of signing; processing takes 3-10 business days and results must be on file before module access is granted At-home orientation modules include an exam for each section with 2 attempts allowed Bring COVID/flu vaccination record and CPR card to orientation Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays; block scheduling cannot be accommodated Travelers may work contracts for up to 1 year; former permanent employees of this facility cannot return as travelers Any previous probationary actions on license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration or it will not be honored
