Health Services Setting Start Date:
August 2026
Job Requirements:
Active West Virginia LPN License in good standing 1•3 years of LPN experience preferred Current CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) Pediatric, school nursing, residential care, long-term care, or developmental disability experience preferred Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently during overnight shifts Successful completion of required criminal background screening Experience with ASL or willingness to learn is a plus
Job Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to students in a residential school setting Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians Monitor, assess, and document student health conditions and outcomes Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid when needed Obtain vital signs, collect specimens, and perform routine nursing procedures Assist physicians and Registered Nurses during examinations and treatments Support students with daily healthcare needs, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility Maintain accurate medical records, medication administration records, and shift reports Coordinate with physicians, Registered Nurses, educators, parents, and residential staff Transport students to medical appointments when necessary Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and assigned school health activities

Additional Information:
Opportunity to work with children and adolescents in a residential educational setting Experience caring for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired is preferred but not required Ability to lift or assist with transfers of up to 50-100 lbs. as needed Ideal for compassionate nurses who enjoy working independently while providing high-quality overnight care

$31.00•$33.50 per hour
