Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Program - ASAM 3.5 Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care and medication-related services to residents receiving treatment in a residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. The LPN supports medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health services by monitoring resident health status, administering medications and treatments within scope of practice, documenting clinical findings, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary treatment team to promote resident safety, recovery, and continuity of care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician, nurse practitioner, and facility orders. Conduct medication passes and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs). Monitor residents for withdrawal symptoms, medication side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in condition. Assist with intake nursing procedures, health screenings, and collection of resident health information. Obtain and document vital signs, weights, blood glucose readings, and other ordered monitoring. Report significant findings, resident concerns, and changes in condition to the RN, provider, or Nursing Manager. Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and other nursing procedures as permitted by training and scope of practice. Assist with medical emergencies and respond appropriately according to facility policy. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate resident health concerns to treatment staff. Monitor medication inventory, assist with medication storage and security procedures, and report discrepancies immediately. Support infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility. Assist with resident education regarding medications, wellness, recovery, and health maintenance. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, facility policies, Medicaid requirements, OHFLAC regulations, and applicable accreditation standards. Perform other duties as assigned within the LPN scope of practice. Qualifications Must be willing to work respectfully and professionally as a team and focus on the important work we do. Current, active West Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Current CPR certification required. Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, residential treatment, corrections, long-term care, or community health preferred. Knowledge of medication administration, infection control, and nursing documentation standards. Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents as needed throughout the shift. Ability to respond quickly during emergencies. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment This position operates within a residential behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment setting on the beautiful repurposed Sugar Grove Base. $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
