The majority of the work involves providing medically prescribed massage therapy that is typically covered medical insurance. Duties Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments to meet individual client needs Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand their health history, pain points, and treatment goals Communicate effectively with clients to explain procedures, gather feedback, and adjust treatments accordingly Maintain detailed records of each session, including techniques used and client responses for future reference Ensure all treatments adhere to safety standards and industry best practices, including CPR certification and knowledge of medical terminology Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend appropriate follow-up treatments or referrals when necessary Manage appointment scheduling and client consultations independently while providing exceptional customer service that fosters trust and loyalty Experience Experienced and/or trained in massage therapy in various modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to accurately assess patient conditions and tailor treatments effectively Prior experience working in medical spas or healthcare settings is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients about their health concerns and treatment options Certification in CPR and licensed to practice in Alaska is required; additional certifications in specialized techniques like trigger point therapy or prenatal massage are a plus Familiarity with pain management strategies and occupational health principles enhances your ability to serve diverse client needs Strong commitment to patient service excellence combined with professional integrity ensures a positive client experience Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills directly contribute to improving others' quality of life!
