Job Description

Release Muscle Therapy | Temecula, CA Release Muscle Therapy is looking for a massage therapist who is genuinely interested in anatomy, chronic musculoskeletal pain, clinical reasoning and becoming exceptionally good at soft-tissue work. This is not a spa massage position. Our clients typically come to us because they have persistent muscle and joint discomfort, have already tried other approaches, or are looking for something more specific than a general relaxation massage. We are looking for a therapist who enjoys asking: Why is this area irritated? What movements reproduce the client's symptoms? What muscles or movement patterns may be contributing? Did the client's movement or comfort change after the session? What should we focus on next time? You do not need to know everything when you arrive. You do need to be curious, reliable, coachable and motivated to keep learning. This may be a great fit if you: Love anatomy and kinesiology. Prefer clinical or problem-focused massage over spa work. Have taken additional continuing education because massage school wasn't enough. Enjoy working with clients who have persistent musculoskeletal issues. Want to improve your assessment and clinical reasoning skills. Appreciate feedback and actively try to improve. Take documentation and professionalism seriously. Want to build an ongoing client base instead of simply performing one-off massages. Are comfortable discussing findings and educating clients in plain language. Training we're especially interested in: Neuromuscular Therapy / NMT Trigger point work Myofascial techniques Orthopedic massage Sports massage Corrective exercise Kinesiology Movement assessment Pain science Rehabilitation-oriented massage Advanced certifications are helpful, but motivation, critical thinking and teachability matter more than collecting certifications. A therapist with two years of experience who is obsessed with learning may be a much better fit for us than someone with fifteen years of experience who has stopped developing their skills. About Release Muscle Therapy Release Muscle Therapy is a clinical massage practice in Temecula specializing in persistent musculoskeletal discomfort and more complicated cases. Our approach goes beyond simply massaging the area that hurts.
Sessions may involve:
assessment → clinical hypothesis → targeted soft-tissue work → reassessment → movement or exercise recommendations We have built a strong local reputation working with active adults, athletes, office workers and veterans. This is an opportunity to work in an environment where clinical thinking and professional development are encouraged. Mentorship and professional development The right therapist will have opportunities for: Case discussions Clinical reasoning development Assessment training Neuromuscular techniques Movement assessment Corrective exercise concepts Client communication Documentation Learning how to manage more complicated musculoskeletal presentations You won't simply be handed a room and told to give massages. Schedule We are primarily hiring for
MORNING SCHEDULE
, approximately: 9:00 AM-1:00 PM Exact days can be discussed based on availability but generally we are looking for a therapist to cover Monday through Friday. Additional hours may become available as your schedule develops. Ideal candidate You are probably the right type of person if you regularly watch anatomy videos, take continuing education courses, look things up after working with an interesting client, or find yourself wanting to understand why something hurts rather than simply where it hurts. Requirements Current CAMTC certification Professional liability insurance Strong communication skills Reliable attendance Professional documentation habits Ability to work independently Comfortable receiving feedback and coaching Preferred but not required Individual NPI Active CAQH profile Previous experience with VA Community Care or insurance-based documentation Neuromuscular Therapy training Experience working with chronic musculoskeletal pain If you do not currently have an NPI or CAQH profile, we can discuss the process during onboarding. Compensation $50 per completed client session hour $20 per hour for required training, meetings and administrative training time This is a W-2 employee position . How to apply Please apply with your résumé and answer the screening questions included with this posting. We're much more interested in how you think and what you want to learn than receiving a generic cover letter.
Pay:
$50.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
Benefits:
Employee discount Paid training Professional development assistance Application Question(s): What areas of massage therapy are you most interested in learning more about over the next 2-3 years? What massage, anatomy, movement or rehabilitation-related courses have you taken beyond your original massage program? A client repeatedly complains of upper-trapezius tightness. Massage makes the area temporarily feel better, but it keeps returning. How would you think through the situation? Tell us about something related to massage, anatomy or movement that you recently learned on your own because you were curious about it. Tell us about a time someone corrected your technique or approach. What did you do afterward? This position depends heavily on clients being able to count on their therapist being available during scheduled hours. Are there any recurring commitments that could interfere with working your agreed morning/mid day schedule? Which sounds most like what you're looking for right now? A. Primarily a place where I can perform massage and make additional income. B. A massage position where I can also improve my skills. C.
