Overview The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a massage therapist to join our wellness team . You will support members' overall well-being and contribute to their quality of life. The Massage Therapist will apply a range of massage techniques to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body. Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used Consult with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in to determine whether massage would be helpful. Develops positive relationships with participants and provides motivational support and guidance. Increases participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors. Monitors care and maintenance of all program facilities and equipment with particular concern for the health and safety of participants and ensures repairs are made as needed. Ensure accurate records of massages performed. Attends staff meetings and trainings as required. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Conveys basic knowledge of all program areas to members and participants. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary. Incorporates the mission, philosophy and core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers. Other duties as assigned. Visual Acuity The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
