Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Massage Therapist "on retainer" to join our wellness team. In this role, you will provide exceptional massage therapy services to clients, helping them relax, recover, and improve their overall well-being. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to build lasting client relationships while delivering tailored treatments that meet individual needs. Your expertise will contribute to creating a calming environment where clients feel valued, cared for, and rejuvenated. Responsibilities Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, prenatal massage, etc. Conduct thorough client assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans based on individual physiology and pain management needs. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns, explain treatment procedures, and provide personalized recommendations. Maintain detailed records of client sessions, including medical terminology relevant to treatment notes and progress tracking. Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to health protocols and maintaining proper sanitation standards. Stay informed about current massage therapy practices, new techniques, and industry trends to enhance service quality. Support client education on self-care practices and injury prevention strategies. Experience Proven experience in massage therapy with a strong background in patient service and customer care. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to massage therapy and pain management. Hands-on experience with Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required for safety compliance. Prior work in med spa environments or similar settings is highly desirable. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to assess individual needs accurately. Familiarity with medical terminology related to muscle injuries, pain management, and rehabilitation processes.
