Independent Contractor Massage Therapist Job Description Restore Physical Therapy & Rehab Position Title Independent Contractor Massage Therapist Specializing in Stretch Therapy and/or Lymphatic Drainage Position Type 1099 Independent Contractor Position Summary Restore Physical Therapy & Rehab is seeking a skilled, professional, and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation and wellness team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate has experience in therapeutic massage and specialized training in one or more of the following areas: stretch therapy, assisted stretching, manual lymphatic drainage, sports recovery, post-operative care, pain relief, mobility enhancement, and wellness services. This opportunity offers flexibility and the ability to work alongside physical therapists in a collaborative clinical environment focused on helping clients reduce pain, improve mobility, support recovery, and enhance overall wellness. ResponsibilitiesClient Care Perform therapeutic massage services tailored to each client's individual needs and goals. Provide assisted stretching sessions to help improve flexibility, mobility, posture, and movement quality. Perform manual lymphatic drainage treatments for appropriate clients, including wellness and post-operative populations. Educate clients on self-care techniques, stretching routines, hydration, and recovery strategies. Maintain accurate treatment notes and documentation as required. Monitor client responses during sessions and communicate any concerns when appropriate. Provide a professional, supportive, and client-centered experience during each visit. Professional Practice Maintain an active Massage Therapy License in the State of Georgia. Maintain current professional liability insurance. Follow all applicable state and federal regulations related to massage therapy practice. Adhere to clinic policies regarding professionalism, client confidentiality, sanitation, and infection control. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment environment. Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled client sessions. Operate independently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards. Collaboration Collaborate with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals when appropriate to support client outcomes. Participate in care-related discussions when needed and within the appropriate scope of practice. Refer clients to physical therapy or other healthcare providers when concerns or needs are outside the massage therapy scope of practice. Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented clinic environment. QualificationsRequired Current Massage Therapy License in the State of Georgia. Active professional liability insurance. Certification, training, or demonstrated experience in therapeutic massage techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong professionalism, reliability, and attention to client care. Ability to work independently while maintaining clinic standards and client confidentiality. Preferred Certification, advanced training, or experience in one or more of the following areas: Stretch Therapy Assisted Stretching Manual Lymphatic Drainage Sports Massage Myofascial Release Cupping Therapy Prenatal Massage Post-Operative Recovery Care Medical, rehabilitation, chiropractic, wellness, or sports performance settings Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Reliable, professional, and self-motivated. Compensation and Contractor Arrangement Competitive independent contractor compensation structure. Flexible scheduling based on contractor availability and clinic needs.
