Join our award-winning specialty practice as an Independent Contractor Licensed Massage Therapist. We are committed to providing exceptional therapeutic massage care to clients with complex medical conditions, particularly those recovering from surgery, managing lymphatic system disorders, and experiencing chronic pain relief needs. We specialize in post-operative recovery, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), oncology massage, and therapeutic techniques for chronic pain management. 1. Perform therapeutic massage sessions tailored to each client's specific needs, preferences, and medical history. 2. Provide chronic pain relief through evidence-based therapeutic massage techniques and modalities. 3. Administer lymphedema therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) to clients following prescribed treatment plans. 4. Assess clients' medical histories and identify any contraindications before beginning massage or lymphedema therapy sessions. 5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including session notes and treatment plans, in our scheduling system. 6. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice for massage therapy and lymphedema therapy, including HIPAA compliance. 7. Educate and suggest clients on self-care techniques and exercises to enhance the benefits of therapy sessions and promote overall wellness. 8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and physical therapists, to coordinate care for clients with complex medical conditions. 9. Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment, including proper disinfection of equipment and massage areas. 10. Maintain flexibility with scheduling to accommodate client availability and business needs.REQUIREMENTS
1. Valid, active license as a Massage Therapist in Illinois (LMT). 2. Certification in Lymphedema Therapy from a recognized institution. (Preferred) 3. Certified in Cupping Therapy. (Required) 4. Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a massage therapist with a focus on therapeutic massage techniques and/or chronic pain management. 5. Demonstrated experience or proficiency in providing therapeutic massage for post-operative recovery and chronic pain relief. 6. Proficiency in assessing clients' needs and developing individualized treatment plans. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with clients and collaborate effectively within a professional team environment. 8. Strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct. 9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to HIPAA regulations. 10. Professional liability insurance (details to be discussed during interview). 11.Independent contractor status:
You will be responsible for your own business taxes and 1099 reporting.WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE INTERVIEW
(In-Person) During our conversation, we'll discuss:- Conduct an Initial Discussion about your experience, Credentials and alignment with our practice
- Have you perform a hands-on 30 minute massage demonstration to assess your technique, skill level and therapeutic approach
- Our workspace setup and what we provide (treatment rooms, linens, equipment)
- Scheduling system and availability expectations
- Payment structure and invoicing process
- Contractor agreement, including non-compete policy
- Insurance requirements and other operational logistics
- The Hands-on demonstration allows us to evaluate your massage techniques, client communication style, and practical ability to deliver the therapeutic and lymphatic work our clients need.
