Massage Therapist Qualifications Minimum 500 hours of massage therapy education and certificate of completion. State of Illinois Massage Therapy License Background and reference check required Knowledge of and experience in performing Swedish Massage required, knowledge of and experience performing deep tissue and other modalities preferred. Massage Therapist Responsibilities Perform quality 60 to 90-minute customized massage session (50 to 80-minutes hands-on) Conduct thorough pre- and post-service consultations and document SOAP notes using a clinic iPad. Recommend services and enhancements such as hot stone, CBD treatments, aromatherapy, cupping, assisted stretching and many more. Effectively communicate with clients, coworkers, and managers.
